Helping people get more out of the game

As the presenting partner of U.S. Soccer since 2019, Volkswagen is on a mission to contribute to the future of the sport by helping people get more out of the game we collectively love.

A partnership between VW and U.S. Soccer just makes sense - after all, we’re the people’s car and soccer is the people’s sport. We believe soccer is for everybody, so we’re on a mission to help drive the next generation of players and fans in the U.S. by unlocking opportunities to make the sport more diverse and inclusive than ever before.

Inspiring the next generation

    Youth Soccer Global Sleepaway Camp

In support of our mission to make soccer more accessible to all, VW sponsored CP Soccer’s annual Global Sleepaway Camp for youth with cerebral palsy. This year, for the first time ever, deaf youth were also invited to participate in the camp, expanding access to its many benefits for more young players across the disability community

    Partnering with America Scores

For over 25 years, we’ve partnered with America Scores in supporting their mission of helping underserved youth lead active and impactful lives on and off the field. From supporting their original chapter in Washington, DC, to involving their members across our soccer efforts, we’re dedicated to our ongoing support of America Scores.

    Player honoree

To provide more access to the game and build up the fans of tomorrow, we’ve partnered with U.S. Soccer’s ‘Player Honoree’ program to offer a diverse range of youth players the chance to walk out alongside the U.S. players at the start of every USSF friendly.

Making the game more diverse and inclusive

    History in the making

Together with U.S. Soccer, VW made history by presenting the U.S. Women’s Deaf National Team vs. Australia match in a first-of-its-kind doubleheader with the U.S. Women’s National Team on June 1, 2024. Bringing even more attention to this historic event, the Deaf WNT match marked the first time one of U.S. Soccer’s nine Extended National Teams (ENTs) played live on U.S. television outside of an international tournament.

    Supporting inclusivity

This past Pride Month, we were excited to offer a limited-edition “Driven by Love” shirt on VW DriverGear. To help advance inclusion for LGBTQ+ athletes, DriverGear donated to You Can Play, an organization working to ensure equality, respect and safety for all athletes, coaches and fans no matter their sexual orientation and/or gender identity.

    Celebrating diversity in soccer

During Hispanic Heritage Month, VW planned a special activation at the USMNT v Germany match in Hartford, CT on October 14th, 2023. In partnership with both USSF and AT&T, we highlighted the custom artwork of Latinx artist Luis Pinto. This artwork was created in partnership with Pinto and USMNT player, Ricardo Pepi, and applied to custom pre-match tops as well as a custom wrapped VW Atlas.

Making the game more electric
  • Talent with DRIVE

A sport defined by its fans

Just as Volkswagen is defined by the people who drive our cars, we know there’s a diverse and uniquely American soccer culture defined by YOU, the fans. To show our support for U.S. Soccer during an international soccer tournament, we rallied soccer players, fans, and creators to help us demonstrate how the U.S. really is the “Home of Soccer.”

Christian Pulisic is one of the key players for the USMNT, but did you know he and his family are also long-standing VW owners? This made it a no-brainer for VW to partner with him as one of the faces of our partnership with USSF. Check out the video here for more details on our latest work with Christian and the all‑electric ID.4.

  • Volkswagen electric vehicles, stadium-side.

    Electrifying the fan experience

To further enhance the gameday experience, and bring a smile to fans who attend U.S. Soccer friendlies, Volkswagen chooses several matches throughout the year to bring our fans up close and personal with our electric vehicles, stadium-side.

  • Miniature ID.4 delivering the match ball at a soccer game.

A soccer tradition with a VW twist

The match ball delivery is a key moment that signifies the start of each match, so it’s only natural for the ball to arrive in style in our Tiny ID.4. This beloved unofficial mascot of USSF travels around to friendlies throughout the year and has become a staple of the experience for fans and players alike.
